ahhh. that’s happened to me as well. it’s a gamble..
Yeah, I know… I’m super bummed because the Nakamichi one I have sounds amazing but it’s starting to show its age. It’s “computer controlled” technology from 1982, so sometimes when I turn it on, it decides it should be recording, so I can never turn it on with a tape already inside or I risk losing part of it… or sometimes it decides that the “play” button really means “rewind”. Crazy shit like that.
There is another one like it on craigslist right now, but it’s $65 and I can’t afford that much. I also have a badass Sansui one but it needs the belts replaced and I don’t know anyone in Seattle that does that kind of service or how much it’d even cost.
